WHAT IS CUP SEALING FILM?

Sealing film is an alternative to plastic cup lids. The thin plastic film can be melted onto cups to produce an air-tight seal. Plastic film adheres well to PP plastic cups and won’t be broken even if the cup is accidentally dropped. Customers can break the seal with a straw once they’re ready to consume the beverage.

HOW DO YOU USE CUP SEALING FILM?

Our custom sealing film will arrive in a roll that produces 3,000 individual seals. You will need a cup sealing machine to adhere the film to your cups. Sealing machines heat up the film so that it fuses with the rim of the cup. The machine then cuts the seal to fit the cup.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING SEALING FILM INSTEAD OF PLASTIC LIDS?

Disposable Design offers standard plastic lids in addition to plastic sealing film. However, sealing film offers several benefits over traditional plastic lids. One of the largest benefits is cost. On average, sealing film costs $0.01-$0.02 less per lid. This may not sound like much of a difference, but it can add up if you’re selling a high volume of drinks.

Sealing film also does a better job of preserving drink flavor. Standard plastic cup lids have pre-cut openings for straws where air can freely enter the cup. The air-tight seal that the film provides keeps drinks fresh until the seal is penetrated with a straw.

Finally, sealing film uses less plastic, which is better for the environment. The plastic film is also recyclable.

CAN SEALING FILM BE USED FOR DRINKS OTHER THAN BUBBLE TEA?

Sealing film has been popularized by bubble tea shops and is often used for bubble tea, but it can be used for other drinks as well. Any cold beverage can be sealed with film, including soda, iced coffee, smoothies, and fruit drinks.

CAN PLASTIC SEALING FILM BE RECYCLED?

Plastic sealing film can be recycled, but most municipalities don’t accept plastic film in residential curbside bins. Many cities that accept plastic film for recycling will only recycle film from commercial store bins. You’ll need to check with your local municipality to determine whether or not sealing film can be recycled in your area.
