Can Plastic Cups Be Used For Hot Drinks?

Our clear plastic cups are designed for cold drinks and are completely safe to use with cold beverages. They should not be used to package hot beverages. Clear plastic is thinner than other forms of plastic, which makes the cups more susceptible to damage from heat. Hot drinks could release chemicals from the plastic or cause burns when heat transfers from the surface of the cup to an employee’s or customer’s hands.  If you’re looking for a cup that can hold hot drinks in a 24 oz size, our compostable cups are the best option. If you’re open to sizing down, then our double-wall cups, single-wall cups, and ripple cups are also good options.
