Benefits of Custom Plastic Cups

If you run a food service business, you may have contemplated buying custom plastic cups for your business. You might already be using disposable cups – or just considering making the switch from reusable to single use cups. There are a lot of advantages to using disposable plastic cups – particularly ones that you customized with your shop’s name and logo.

Increased Brand Awareness

First, using custom plastic cups is a great way to increase brand visibility. When your customers leave your establishment with one of your beverages, they are essentially acting like a walking advertisement for your business. They may also take pictures of the cup to post on social media. It also helps to create an impression on customers, as they will associate your brand with the delicious drink that they just finished.

Cost-Effective Marketing

Second, using custom-branded cups is a cost-effective form of marketing. Our plastic cups cost marginally more than plain plastic cups. If you’re already using plastic cups for your business, it only makes sense to spend a bit more to boost your marketing and branding efforts for pennies on the dollar.

Higher-Value Product Appearance

Third, using custom plastic cups can enhance your restaurant’s credibility. Having custom cups is a sign that you have invested in your company – and that it is here to stay. It allows you to stand out from the crowd and come across as a more established business.

More Cohesive Brand Experience

Fourth, custom cups are a way to build a more cohesive brand. Branding includes all of the things that customers see when they interact with your business, from color to font to overall style. When your brand is carried through to the smallest details – like your cups – it creates a consistent look and helps to establish brand loyalty.

Steps to Making Custom Plastic Cups for Your Business

If you have decided that custom plastic cups are right for your business, the next step in the process is to work with a company – like Disposable Design – to make them. On the customer side, your input will be needed for a few key areas – including the style and size of cup, the plastic, and the design.

Pick a Type, Style, and Size of Cup

The first step in the process of making your own custom plastic cups is to pick the size, type, and style of cup that works for your business. At Disposable Design, we offer 2 primary options for cup style and type: clear plastic cups and stadium cups.

Clear Plastic Cups

Our clear plastic cups are ideal for a variety of uses. If you own a winery, you might select a custom 9-ounce plastic cup for your guests to enjoy a glass of vino on the terrace.  A custom 12-ounce plastic cup might be a better choice for bars, breweries, or food trucks to serve hand-crafted cocktails and beverages. If you sell a lot of soda, then a 24-ounce plastic cup may be the best choice.

We offer a full range of clear plastic cup sizes to meet your needs, including 10-ounce, 14-ounce, 16-ounce, 20-ounce, and 32-ounce sizes. We also offer sample cups that can be printed with your logo so that you can test out our high-quality cups for yourself before purchasing.

Stadium Cups

Stadium cups are often used for special events – like concerts, festivals, and sporting events – or for promotions.  They are made with thick, durable plastic and can be reused – unlike our thinner clear plastic cups. These cups come in white and frosted plastic and can be customized with your business name and logo.

Our stadium cups come in a range of sizes: 12-ounce, 16-ounce, 20-ounce, 24-ounce, and 32-ounce. Each of these sizes can be beautifully customized – and perhaps most importantly, used again and again by your customers.

Choose Your Preferred Plastic

Plastic cups can be made from several different types of plastic. At Disposable Design, we offer clear plastic cups in two types of plastic: polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Our stadium cups are only produced with PP plastic. Both plastics make durable, strong cups, but have their own distinct advantages.

PET plastics can be formulated into completely transparent cups. They are easy to recycle, and given their moisture-resistant properties, they are a perfect choice for cold beverages. PET plastic cups do tend to cost a bit more than PP plastic cups. It also isn’t the best choice for drinks that use film wrap – like bubble tea – as this material doesn’t “stick” as well to PET plastic as it does to PP plastic.

Like PET plastic, PP plastic is also recyclable. Although PP plastic has a higher heat resistance, these cups are suitable for cold beverages as hot liquids can melt the plastic, present a burn risk, or cause chemicals to leach out of the plastic. PP plastic cups are slightly less transparent than PET plastic and typically cost less.

Both types of plastic cups are food-safe and make an excellent choice for your business. The choice between the two will typically come down to factors like intended application, budget, and style preference. If you have any questions about which plastic cup is right for you, our team can advise you of the best cup based on your unique needs.

Design Your Cup

Once you have made your choices when it comes to cup type, the fun begins: it’s time to design your cup! If you have an established business, then you likely already have a logo and brand name. However, you might want to expand and stylize your design to take advantage of the larger cup size.

At Disposable Design, our printers use the CMYK or Pantone color scales. You should make sure that your design is made using one of these scales so that the colors are accurately represented on the cups. We can print up to 6 colors onto cups. We charge a flat rate of $100 per color for each order. If you want to keep your costs low, you might consider changing a multi-color design to a monocolor design.

Files should be in the .EPS, .SVG, or .AI format for printing so that they can be properly scaled without pixelating. Our design team can help you with your design, including converting your existing design into a vector file free of charge. We can also work with you to help you finalize your design based on our years of experience and in-depth understanding of the types of designs that work well on our cups.

Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible. We know that restaurateurs aren’t necessarily design or branding experts – which is why we are happy to offer our assistance. We pride ourselves on customer service, making our representatives and design experts available to answer any questions and respond to concerns.

Wait for Your Custom Branded Cups to Be Delivered!

Once your design has been finalized, we can print your cups! Many businesses choose to order a sample cup, which lets them see exactly how the finished product will look. A sample can cost as little as .10 cents – based on cup size, the print range, and the number of colors – so it is often a good idea to get a sample before making a final decision on your cups.

When you are happy with the design, we will print your order and send it to you. We use a specialized printing machine to print your design onto your plastic cups. The cups are then subjected to a QA review to make sure that the printing quality meets our standards before being packaged.

We sell our cups in smaller quantities than a lot of other suppliers, which makes it easy for even small businesses to get high-quality custom plastic cups for a fair price.  You won’t have to worry about storing hundreds of thousands of cups – and you can get the benefit of our products without the hefty price tag.
